Unfortunately, their match against Yorkshire, which had been a feature for some years, would not next year be on their list, as Yorkshire had had to give this match to the West In- dians, who were visiting Eng- land next year. They hoped, however, that in the follow- ing year they might be able again to arrange a match with York- shire.

They had been in touch with the South African people regarding a representative game in 1940, and this, no doubt, would form part of their programme for that year.

There was, however, a deficit of £14 on the game with Ire- land, one of £5 12s with the Sir Julian Cahn's XI, and one of £8.11s: in the match with Yorkshire at Har- rogate.
