CHINA MUST RESIST TO END

Chungking. To-day.

In a leading article on “A peace of surrender and a peace of slavery,' the influential Chinese

daily, the "Ta Kung Pao," says:

"Since the Sino-Japanese hos- tilities started we have often heard the remark that we want peace with honour and not peace in humiliation, but this is not a true picture of the situation, since to- day

we even if

want peace in humiliation we cannot get it.

"What Japan wants is a peace of surrender and slavery."

Concluding, the paper urges the Chinese populace not to be misled by Japanese propaganda, but to continue resistance, for "unless the Chinese resist to the end, there can never be

peace with honour for China." Reuter.
