ATTACK ON FOREIGN EXTRALITY RIGHTS

Inspired Threats In Japanese Controlled Press

Officials Play The Innocent Abroad

RELIEF

Londoni, To-day.

A stronger threat than usual is made in to-day's

issue-of-the-weekly, "Voice of New China," met the Chairman and which works under Japanese auspices.

"First step will be early abolition of the unequal treaties, withdrawal of all foreign troops now garrison- ed on Chinese soil, retrocession of all foreign Concessions and Settle- ments and abolition of the extrality rights now unlawfully enjoyed by foreigners."

JAPANESE ATTITUDE

Italian Ambassador

To Japanese

Shanghai, To-day.

The Marquis de Marcio Taliani, new Italian Ambassa- sador to China, who arrived in Shanghai several weeks ago en route to Chungking to present his credentials, was guest of honour last night at a dinner given by "mayor" Fu Hsiao-an, of the Japanese fostered "city gov-` ernment" of Greater Shang- hai at Rokusan Gardens, Hongkew.

Officials of the Italian Em- bassy, when approached by reporters, emphatically deni- ed that the Ambassador had made a speeth at the party.

They said: "He made no declaration and no speech at the party.”

When asked when the Am- bassador was leaving for

Meanwhile, Chinese circles attach importance to the Italian envoy's delay in presenting his credentials while accepting an invitation to attend a party given by an official of the "govi ernment" opposed to that which he is accredited.

They recall the recent report that the Anti-Comintern · Pact powers are planning to extend diplomatic recognition to the new "federal government," in- auguration of which has been so far unsuccessful owing to Markhai Wu Pél-fu's refusal to accept the presidency-Reuter.
