Extraordinary precautions were taken by the po- lice yesterday when Joachim von Ribbentrop, the Nazi Foreign Minister, who came to Paris to sign the Franco-German no-war agree- ment, laid a wreath on the Grave of the Un- known Soldier.
No crowds had gathered as no announcement of the ceremony had appeared in the morning newspapers.
Everybody around the Arc de Triomphe, which was surrounded by Mobile Guards, was kept on the move.
Herr von Ribbentrop was accom- panied by the French Foreign Minister, M. Georges Bonnet, the French Ambassador in Berlin, M. Coulondre and the German Ambas- sador, Count Welczeck.

bon, and after a pause of one minute before the Eternal Flame, the

A luncheon was given yesterday in honour of the German Foreign Minister, Ribbentrop, by the Comite France-Allemagne.
The guests included the French Cabinet Ministers, Anatole de Monzie and Charles Pomaret, the German Ambassador to Paris,, Count Welczeck, and the French Ambassador to Berlin, Robert Coulondre, and the leaders of the French Ex-Servicemen' Henry Pichot and Jean Goy.
