A very fast and exciting hockey match was witnessed on the Y.M.C.A. ground, at King's Park, 500 yesterday, when a strong Kumaon 165 188 148 486 Rifles team held a “Y” øløven to ą 104 157 160 481 draw, sharing four goals after '188 150

also rendered yeoman service.

W. H. Colledge, at centre-forward, played a dashing game until he was unfortunately forced to leave the field midway through the second- half, when he put his knee out. Ho scored both the home team's goals as a result of splendid backing up.

SPARKLING DISPLAY

was

Lt. Holmes, leading the Kumaons. gave a sparkling display and unfortunate not to have scored on several occasions, his unselfishness and fine distribution of the bail be- ing one of the outstanding features of the game.

The Kumaons were in splendid fettle, but took some time to settle down. They were best seen in the second half when their halves in- tercepted everything which -came their way and, playing well up the field, kept the "Y" on the defence for the major portion of the second half.

The Fanlingerer

A bad-tempered, noisy animal that ambles about in the open country growling and grunting.

Can always be found when it is raining in the half-way house, generally hiding behind a glass of H.B. BEER.
