The departure of the German Foreign Minister, Joachim von Ribbentrop, for Paris to sign the peace declaration, comes as the climax of several weeks of propaganda in press and radio and in the utterances of public men.
The references to France on the subject of the gen- eral strike were so overwhelmingly sympathe- tic as to arouse comment in diplomatic, quar- ters here.
