Great surprise has been caused here by the recall of the Spanish Ambassador, Senor Ruiz Funes, under circumstances described as unprecedent- ed in diplomatic history.
The Belgian Government had not been officially no- tified by Barcelona of the recall, which it learn- ed only through press reports. The Ambassa- dor, together with all members of the Embassy' staff, left Brussels on Thursday without taking leave of the Foreign Minister or informing the Government of his departure.
