The new batch of Subscription Griffins ordered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, for the 1939 Annual Race Meeting, arrived in the Colony yesterday morning at 11.00 a.m. by the specially charter- ed China Navigation Co.'s steamer s.s. "Kwangtung." ·
The ponies left Dairen, South Manchuria on November 25 and travelled direct to this port. There are 98 ponies in all, and they appeared to have weathered the journey without ill effects.
HEART OF MIDLOTHIAN'S
NEW CENTRE-FORWARD
Heart of Midlothian have signed Robert Nelson M'Gurdy, centre. forward of the Midlothian Junior League team, Fauldhouse United.
M'Gurdy is a well-built youth, being 5 feet 10 ins. in height, and weighing 11 st. He is 20 years of age, and a native of Gifford. M'Gurdy resides in Edin- burgh, where, it is understood, he works in a warehouse. He joined Fauldhouse last season, and play- ed in several positions, chiefly at, centre-half. This season, however, he has been playing at centre-for- ward regularly, and his height and weight have helped him consider- ably in his bustling play.

R.A.F. DEFEAT STRONGEST RIVALS
R.A.F. defeated 24th Battery R.A.; one of their strongest rivals in Section "B" of the Third Divi- sion, by 3 goals to 1.
The Battery were faster on the ball, but R.A.F. forwards were dan- gerous, making straight for goal whenever in possession.
Froud netted all three goals for the Air Force, while Gunner's only goal came from Marshall.
