BIGGEST AND FASTEST FOR BRITAIN

The giant new aircraft which the Fairey Company are to build for Imperial Airways will be the biggest and fastest in service in the world in commercial employment. Although their normal cruising speed will be in the region of 220 miles an hour, they will be cap- able of at least 275 miles an hour, fully loaded.

STAR JUST MISSES PAUPER'S

Fred Barnes, once-famous. music- hall artist, found dead at his lodgings in Southend-on-Sea, is expected to be buried in Birmingham, Mr. Charles Danny Watson, Fred Bar- nes's manager for twenty-three years, is to arrange the funeral. But for his intervention Barnes would probably have been buried a pauper.

THEY PAY NO RENT

Tenants of a row of houses at -Blassenavon, Mon., pay no rent because the owners cannot be traced. Many occupiers entered into possession at night time. The council cannot eject them be- cause all rates are paid prompt- Iy.

They have been advised, how- ever, to put the rent away each week, in case owners are found.-
