PIROW TO SEE HERR HITLER ON THURSDAY Colonial Issue Not Likely To Be Raised

Germany Not Now Seeking To Force Matters

Berlin, To-day.

Mr. Oswald Pirow, the South African Minister of Defence, who is visiting Germany following visits to Portugal and Britain, is due to see Herr Hitler on Thursday.

In South African circles it is not expected that Mr. Pirow will discuss colonial issues until the Ger-

mans express a désire for him to do so.

It is gathered in German quarters that the Reich authori- ties do not want to force matters and

are: prepared to wait and. they do not consider the time ripe for a solution.--Reuter.

Berlin, Yesterday, The South African * Min- ister of Defence, Mr. Pirow visit- ed the Potsdam · school for non- commissioned officers.

After his return the Minister laid a wreath at the war” mem- orial in Unter den Linden, where a' guard of honour had been drawn up which Mr. Pirow, who was ac companied by the South African Minister in Berlin, Mr. Gie, in- spested.

A large crowd of spectators had gathered to witness the spectacle. The Minister and Mrs. Pirow together with the Minister and Mrs. Gie, then lunched with Field Marshal Goering at the palace of the Prussian Prime Minister.

Among other guests were the Secretary of State for Air, General Milch and the famous airman, General Udet.

In the evening the Minister and Mrs. Pirow were guests at the dinner of the German South African Society.-Trans-Ocean.

TALK WITH RIBBENTROP

Berlin, Yesterday.. When the South African Defence Minister, Mr. Pirow was received by the Foreign Minister, von Rib bentrop, the conversation. lasted an hour.

The subject of discussion was German South-African relations.
