JAPANESE ADMIT THREAT TO CANTON FROM CHINESE REINFORCEMENTS

A telephone message from the front late last night states that the Japanese troops at Tsungfa, 35 miles northeast of Canton, have retreated southward.
Another, unconfirmed, report claims that Fatshan has been recaptured by the Chinese. The Chin- ese recapture of Kongtsun and Kaotong, on the Canton-Hankow Railway to the north of Can- ton, has been confirmed.
