TAX BLOW Scheme Surprises France

Some surprise has been created by the appearance of the official "journal” with details of the new national contribution scheme.

COMMUNISTS ARRESTED IN PRAGUE

It is announced that twelve lead- ing Communist "intellectuals" were arrested here yesterday in- cluding the editor of the former leading organ of the Czecho-Slovak Communist Party.

The arrested persons are charg- ed with having carried on "illegal Communist activities" since the dissolution of the Communist Party.

The Agrarian paper "Vocér" states in this connection that the leader of the dissolved Communist Party, Gottwald, has left Prague for an unknown destination and: that he is believed to have gone abroad.--Trang-Océan, ¡
