NHE Australian Board of Cricket Control met in Sydney last

week and discussed the playing and financial conditions of the] Australian tour of New Zealand in 1940.

The tour will be regarded as an opportunity of building up the Australian team for the 1940-41 Test series in Australia.

The Victorian Cricket Association asked the Board's ruling as to whether a batsman is "out" in the event of a piece of his bat distur- bing the wicket, this having actually occurred in a match. The Board replied that such batsman is out, conforming with the M.C.C.'s ruling.
