The second ballot in yesterday's elections for one-third of the seats in the French Senate, reveals little

change in the respective strength of the parties, and it is not expect- ed that the results of the third ballot, due late last night, will make much difference to the position.

The state of the parties after the second ballot was Republicans 16, Left Republicans 10, Independent Radicals 11, Socialist Radicals 35, the Republican and Socialist Union 3. and Socialists 4.

A third ballot is necessary in seventeen constituencies, while the result of the second ballot at Guadeloupe is not yet known.- Reuter
