Final Interport Bowls Match To-Day
HONG KONG MUST WIN TO SQUARE SERIES
BUT SHANGHAI WILL RETAIN THE TROPHY!
(By "SKIP")
...
ALTHOUGH much of the interest has been robbed from the last
Interport Lawn Bowls match by the unfortunate fiasco last Sunday, there are sure to be a large number of "fans" at Club de Re- creio to witness the final match of the series this afternoon," .. The result of the match will have little bearing on the destina- tion of the Prentice Cup, whch goes back to Shanghai in any case: It will be interesting to see, however, whether our visitors win the series or just retain the Trophy, as Australia did with the “ashes,”
After their overwhelming victory] last Wednesday, it is only natural that the Shangai captain has select ed the same four to represent the Northern port. The teams will therefore be:
Shanghai:-E, L. R. Swartzell, J. M. G. Lopes, A. M. Gutierrez and H. Wal- lace (Skip).
Hong Kong:-J. A. da Luz, F. X. M. da Silva, C. G. Silva and U. M. Omar (Skip).
Of the local players, three have the advantage of playing on
own green, a subject on which
