Hankow, To-day.

The fighting at Taian is described by the Chinese newspaper "Sao Tan Pao” as the bloodiest that has yet occurred in the Sino-Japanese conflict and the greatest victory won by the Chinese troops. Three hundred light and heavy machine guns were captured, 27 Japanese airplanes brought down and a great quantity of heavy guns, rifles, mú- nitions and motor lorries taken.

The Chinese air arm was chiefly responsible for the victory, writes the "Sao Tan Pao," over 100 Chinese airplanes having bombarded the Ja- panese troops two days.

More than 1000 heavy bombs were dropped. Cap- tive balloons were used by the Chinese for the first time.-Trans-Ocean.
