Chinese military circles here admitted this morning that little resistance is being offered to the Jap- anese forces whose advance on the Kowloon- Canton Railway is proceeding at an increas- ingly rapid rate..

It is stated, however, that the Chinese defence plan has never envisaged any effort to stand and fight near the coast, and that the present re- tirement of the Kwangtung forces is according to the plan of operations mapped out months ago.
