SCANDALOUS PAGES TORN FROM BOOK OF HISTORY, SAYS HERR HITLER
Berlin, To-day. "Scandalous pages have been torn out of the book of fate," declared Herr Hitler making a speech in the Sports Palace in Berlin last night in con- nection with the Winter Relief Fund. Hitler was introduced by his Propaganda Minister, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, who announced that the Fund had awarded 45,000,000 marks to the Sudetens.
Hitler recalled that when he took the leadership of the Reich it was said that he was popular while he was in opposition but that when called tó govern, his popularity would wane in six weeks. The past six years, he declared, had been the most decisive in | German history.
"The decisive thing in the re- cent events is that the people backed me. That is the way I have succeeded in general, par- ticularly in the last few weeks.
MAY 28 DECISION
"On May 28 I undertook a great [aim, determined to achieve it, be- cause the entire German nation was ready for the supreme sacri- fice.
r
"I sacrificed my private bour- geois comforts to the great aims of the nation.
"In the last months and weeks I have had a great helper in foreign affairs, and I have already had the occasion to thank the man who stood behind Germany, namely Mussolini.
"I must also thank the other two, statesmen who in the last minute realised the gravity and enabled me to give my hand to an under- standing (referring to the British and French Premiers), but above all my gratitude is due to the Ger- man people, who have taken all the measures necessary to enforce our just claim.

CROWN PRINCE
UMBERTO TO GO TO PARIS
Paris, To-day. The Italian Crown Prince and Crown Princess have been invited "When hundreds of thousands to Paris for the unveiling of the were drafted to labour, and hun- statue of King Albert the first of dreds of thousands called to the the Belgians on October 12. colours, no man went to the sav- ings bank, no woman doubted.
"Nobody in the world will help us unless we help ourselves.
"Mr. Duff-Cooper and Mr. Eden say the Czechs have been badly treated. They should go and see for themselves.
"In Sudetenland I saw frightful misery. It must be our cry to re- move this distress completely,
NO-ONE DARE ATTACK "It amazes me to have solved this problem in Sudetenland with- out fighting. How many sacrifices would fighting have demanded?.
"As long as the German people preserve their unity, no one will dare attack us.
King Albert was the father of the Italian Crown Princess,
and this act is regarded as indication of the better relations between the two countries.-Trans-Ocean.
