M. DALADIER EXPLAINS MUNICH AGREEMENT. TO CROWDED CHAMBER

Paris, To-day.

Greeted with the cheers and handclapping of all the 500 deputies present, except the Communists, the Premier, M. Edouard Daladier, yesterday gave a crowded Chamber his explanation of the Munich agreement.

The Premier defined the position of the Govern- ment throughout the crisis as being "animat- ed by two equally strong sentiments a desire not to be compelled to military action and a wish never to go back on our word if by misfor- tune this hope was disappointed." Certainly the Munich agreement had reduced Czech territory, but the Republic could carry on an independent life and "we will help her."
