London, To-day.

Yesterday was a day of anxious consultations in London, with meetings. of the full British Cabinet and the British and French Cabinet Minis- ters alternating.

Indicating that the situation remains more or less unchanged, the French Premier, M. Edouard Daladier, on arrival in London, told a "reporter who had asked him whether there was still hope for peace: "In Eu- rope we must always keep hoping.”

.

The Anglo-French conversations were still in progress at a late hour last night, and as they are to be followed by another British Cabinet meet- ing, it seems that the talks will continue into the early hours of the morning.
