During the course of morning's training, Mr. H. C. Pih was thrown by pony J.O.I:2, a new 1939 Australian pony belonging to Messrs. Li Bros. Mr. Pih took

the pony out for walking exercise in company with pony No. 1, another new pony, and the accident occurred near the winning post. He remounted immediately after the fall and ap peared none: the worse for the acci- dent.

Pony No. 16, a new 1939 Aus- tralian pony belonging to T. K. L., figured in another accident, thro- wing its Chinese riding boy, near the. six furlongs post. At first it was thought that the boy was seriously hurt, but he was only dazed and returned to the Jockey's room for attention.

The pony bolted for some time before it was caught by a mafoo. near the quarter mile post.

In view of such accidents,.. pro- bably due to the nervousness of the new ponies, it may be advisable to put them through their exercise after the old ponies have finished their gallops. This morning, an old pony 'galloped past the new one; and it got so frightened that it threw its riding boy.
