Private Stickley, Middlesex Regt. Right-Back-A safe and steady de- fender, never erratic, and possessing a fine sense of anticipation.. He has a good clean hit and combines well with the rest of the defence. He played Interport for the Colony. against Macau.

Lt. G. J. G. Douglas, R.E. Left-Back-Not as safe as his part- oner, but a hard worker, who has a good clean hit and a fair sense of anticipation. He is combining well O with his partner and covers an amaz- 0ing amount of ground. He is manag-

ing the team during the tour.

L/Cpl. Wetton, R.E.

Right-Half-A very hard worker, good spoiler, and is useful with his stick, being excellent in his clear- ances with the reverse stick. Не should make the team at right-half,

choice for this position, and also in line for Colony representative honours. He is a great constructive player and is one man who makes it appear no of- fence to play hockey with one hand, having extraordinary reach and strength of wrist. He is a British field and track athlete, having repre- sented Great Britain against Euro- pean countries in the Javelin Throw and High Jump. He was holder of British Native, high-jump record and is still holder of the Army high-jump, Javelin and. Discus records.

reserve to

L/Cpl. A. F. Austen, R.C. of S. Left-half-He has been playing hockey for some time in the Colony and is a strong contender for the left-half position. He is construc- tive, has a keen sense of judgment in distribution and, above all,” is ̈very

unselfish.

Lieut. J. D. Holmes, Kumaon Rifles. Right-winger-He should be a re- serve, is not up to Army representa- tive standard, and has little sense of distribution at the right moment.

Lt. L. C. Beadnell, Middlesex Regt. Inside-right-He has very efficient stick-work, is a very thrustful for- ward, who has good understanding and who is always ready to relieve pressure when his intermediate line is hard. pressed. He has played Rugby as a centre-three-quarter for the Army representative team in the Triangular Tournament. He is short- ly leaving for England,

Cpl. Hitchcock, Royal Scots. Centre-forward-He is an

excep- tionally brilliant leader of the attack, and is what one might call a snap opportunist. Always ready with his stick, he is deadly in the circle.

Lt. Hook, R.A.

Inside-left--He is a boon to a hard- worked defence. Ha believes in “W” formation play and is always, ready to lend a hand in defence, and yet creates brilliant openings in and near the circle. Being exceptionally fit. he will probably play in all matches. He is also in line for Army "and Cor lony, representative honours......****

Lieut. W. A. Hanwell, R.A.

Outside-left-He showed much more promise in the second practice: match, and should find his position, at out, side-left. He is fast, and keeps his position, an essential point for any winger.

The team will be completed by the inclusion of Lieut. F. JC. Smith (RA), Sergt. Mettam (R.) (Um pire) and Drum Major Degnam (R,' Scots).
