Unofficial proposals regarding the new site for the Kowloon Golf Club have been received, and if carried out, will confirmed and mean final settlement of the pro blem and ensure satisfactory golf- ing facilities for the future, de- clared the President (Mr. W. A. Stewart) at the annual meeting yesterday.
In his annual report Mr. Stewart said:

The question of a new site for the Club has been under consideration by the Government for some time, and on receipt of notice to quit our present sito negotiations were commenced by a Sub-committee appointed for this purpose.
I am happy to be able to tell you that overtures have received sym- pathetic consideration and that.pro- posals have been received which, if confirmed and carried out, would mean final settlement of the Kow- loon, Golf Club problem and ensure satisfactory golfing facilities for the future. Early this summer, the Shanghai Lawn Tennis Association wrote to the local Association inviting Colony team to visit Shanghai for an Interport series. reply was received by the end o of June and the northern port renewed the in- vitation. Still no reply was receiv- ed from Hong Kong.
Yesterday, the Hong Kong Lawn Tennis Association issued an official statement clearing up the matter. It reads:

"Owing to a misunderstanding in connection with the use of the Post Office Box by the Hong Kong Lawn Tennis Association, an invi- tation from Shanghai to take part in a triangular Interport contest, despatched at the end of May and renewed at the end of June, was not received by thô Ansociation until August 20, by which time it was tuifortunately too late to take. any action."
