COAL BARGE CONVERTED INTO FLOATING CHURCH-M. Bellanger, a French abbe, has converted an old coal barge into a floating church in which he patrols the canals of France. Named "Je It is Sers" ("I Serve"), the church is built of reinforced concrete. drawn through the canals by a tug and renders great service to French bargees and their families, marriages, christenings, etc., be- ing conducted aboard. The barge is divided into three sections, the church, social rooms, and offices and living quarters. Photo shows— A scene during a service in the novel church.

New Anti-Christian Drive By Soviet

The Soviet drive against Ortho- dox Christianity has entered on new phase with the forcible closing of the big church of the Epiphany at Dorogomilovskaya, a Moscow suburb. This Church, has served as the Orthodox Cathedral in Mos- cow since the suppression of more famous shrines. Workmen___tore down the crosses from the domes and belfry-the first step to molition.

The pro-cathedral has lately been renovated at great financial sacri- fice by the poor Orthodox rank and file. Since the revolution it has housed a particularly sacred ikon, popularly attributed to the brush of one of the twelve Apostles, St. Lrke. The fate of this relic is causing concern among the faithful.
