Shanghai, To-day.

From midnight to-night all members of the Shang- hai Volunteer Corps will attend their busi- nesses in uniform, as the entire force has been placed on a "precautionary basis," ready to be called out at any time of day to deal with ter- rorist outbreaks.

This is the first stage of the special precautions be- ing taken in the foreign areas all this week in connection with August 13.
