RABBI OF HAIFA SHOWS EXECUTION DISAPPROVAL: JERUSALEM PROTESTS

Jerusalem, To-day.

It is learnt from reliable source that the Rabbi of . Haifa who had been asked to attend the last spiritual needs of Jakob Josef, whose execution is scheduled to take place to-day has refused to. perform this duty on the plea that Wednesday is a Jewish festival.

It is being said in circles known for their hostility to the Jews that the action of the Rabbi has been dictated by the desire to effect ra postponement of the execution.

BRITISH POLICE INJURED

POLISH NOTE TO LEAGUE

Warsaw, To-day. The Polish Government has ad- dressed. anote to the General Secretary of the League of Nations criticising the attitude of the League of Nations in dealing with the question of distribution of the world's raw materials.

Although the text of the note has not been published, it is learned that the Polish Government is com- plaining about the way in which the League Committee has so far dealt with the demands of those Countries which are lacking in raw materials. Trans-Ocean.
