DEFENCE SUGGESTION

IN HEROIN CASE

A suggestion that he had been -"framed" by a former friend, was made by 39-year-old- Leung Wing, when arraigned this morning before Acting Puisne Judge, Mr. E. H. Williams, on a charge of unlawful possession of eight ounces of heroin.

According to Mr. D. E. Davis, Acting Government Monopoly An- alyst, the heroin” was sufficient to manufacture 200,000 pills.

Accused was represented by the Hon. Mr. Leo D'Almada, junior, in- structed by Mr. G. S. Ford, and the Crown Solicitor, Mr. E. W. Davis, represented the Crown..

Accused pleaded not guilty, and the following jury was empanelled:} Messrs. B. Pasco (Foreman), Tsu Ho-tseung, Harry Way, Deus-Dedit A. Alonco, Chan Ping Cheung, G. Borst and Mok. Kam-chän.

According to the prosecution, the heroin was found in a cupboard in accused's cubicle at No, 154, Tem- ple Street, Kowloon. Accused. was alleged to have admitted that the powder (heroin), which was in a cardboard box, belonged to him, when questioned by Revenue Of- ficer Stephens, who carried out the raid.
