SHANGHAI LAST NIGHT

Shanghai, To-day. Police in Shanghai's International Settlement were kept busy yesterday evening investigating two daring attempted political assassinations. In the first case, two gunmen armed with mauser automatic pistols, entered the offices occupied by Mr. Wu Zang-yee, well known Shanghai Chinese and reportedly one of the founders of the Kuomintang with Dr. Sun Yat Sen and Mr. Wang Ching-wei. Finding Mr. Wu out, the gun-t men opened fire, wounding two partners of Mr. Wu.

The second attempt took place at 2.30 when four gunmen en- tered a room of a Chinese hotel on Nanking Road and wounded four inmates.
