On Monday, President Benes re- ceived the Minister of Railways, M. Bechyne and the Minister of Educa- tion, Dr. Franke, who are members of the Czech Social-Democratic and Czech People's Party, respectively, and yesterday the Minister for the Co-ordination of Legislation, M. Sramek, who as a member of the Czech Clerical Party, was received by the President.

HODZA NEGOTIATIONS

It is believed that President Benes wished to establish personal contact with the Ministers in order to discuss the domestic situation_ with the latter. Premier Hodza, on the other hand, continued nego- tiations with various national groups. Yesterday he received the chairman of the Parliamentary Club of the Sudeten German Party, Deputy Kundt, who was accompani- ed by members of the Executive Committee of the Sudeten. A statement regarding the out- come of this conference has so far not been issued, neither by the Government nor the Sudeten Ger- man Party but it was expected that such statements would be forth- coming late last night.

It is asserted, however, that the Nationalities Statute drafted by the Government, was not submitted to the Sudeten German deputies during this conference, as had b

been originally expected. It is asserted that the Political Committee of the Cabinet will once more discuss the Statute and add finishing touches to the document during this session, so that a definitely revised draft may serve as a basis for negotia tions with the National Groups.
