SOUTH WALES MINERS DEMAND BOYCOTT OF JAPAN

London, To-day.

An appeal for the boycott of Japanese goods by miners, was made by the executive of the South Wales Miners' Federation in a resolution expressing indignation against the ruthless war of aggression which "Japanese Imperial- ism is waging in China with the systematic, barbarous and pitiless massacre of Chinese civilians.

The resolution "hopes that Chin- ese victories may continue to have the effect of wearing down and ultimately smashing the power of the Japanese military clique, open- ing the way for peace, freedom and democracy in Japan and liberating China from the danger of foreign domination."

The resolution is being forward- ed to the Prime Minister and For- eign Secretary-Reuter.

QUEEN HAS SLIGHT COLD

London, To-day.

It is officially stated that the Queen is suffering from a slight cold and will, in consequence, re- main indoors at the Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, as a precau- tionary measure.

Her Majesty, therefore, cancelled her engagement yesterday after- noon with the Princesses to attend of the the daylight rehearsal Aldershot Tattoo.

However, they attended with their governess and 60,000 school children gave them an enthusiastic reception when they arrived at Rushmore Arena. It is emphasised that the Queen's cold is very slight.--British Wireless.

MEDICINE FOR CHINA

Recently, on private initiative, a Committee has been formed in the Netherlands called "Central Com- mittee for the relief of the civil population in China.'

This Committee has shipped. a quantity of medicine to China, which has arrived in Hong Kong and which will be forwarded to the Chinese authorities concerned, by Its representative in China. ""The Holland China Trading Co." The Committee, being of a purely pri- vate nature, has no connection with the Netherlands Consulate General.
