INEQUALITY OF VOTING POWER
COUNTY CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN RINKS
Points Awarded .. Lancashire Middlesex Glamorgan
Derbyshire Gloucestershire
The story of inequality in vot- Leicestershire ing power has often been told in Yorkshire these columns, concerning ̧ the Surrey Imperial Bowling Board, the all- powerful which threatens to Kent swallow up the Dominion minnows Sussex whenever opportunity occurs.
At the meeting of the I.B.B. held in London in July of last year, the question of American affiliation
mentioned and debated for the umpteenth time.
was
On a vote being taken, the follow- ing was the result: There are four British delegates, possessing double the voting power of four Dominion delegates.
WASTE OF TIME
Obviously, then, it would appear that it is so much waste of holding debates and taking
This assumption is proven by result of the ballot to admit or re- ject America.

All the Dominions and England- five out of the eight units-voted in favour of America, yet the voting power of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales was sufficient to defeat them. Now a strong move is on foot to have equality in voting power, which is not only fair and logical, but Old England's own medicine. The "pups" will continue to until this is accomplished.

If Australia
Wins---
FRY WILL
BE AMAZED
"Perhaps, you are amazed that Lord Tennyson's quasi-England cricket XI have not done better in India. Hall-mark of M.C.C. I believe not attached to their lug- gage; but still a pretty represen- tative team," writes C. B. Fry in the London "Evening Standard”.
"You need not be amazed. For one thing the Indians are far stronger in cricket than we are pleased to suppose. Their team over here in 1986 were а fair match for our best, and might have amazed us had they had fewer captains and managers...
"Nissar is the best fast bowler in the world. Amar Singh pro bably the best all-rounder, Mushtaq Ali and Merchant are of the top class as batamen; and they have plenty of batsmen and bowlers about as good as those Australia are sen- ding this year to amaze me if they beat us.
"Moreover, India is a hot country, very and touring out there an abomination of all too melting flesh.
