Paris, To-day. L'intransigeant's Geneva corres- pondent reports that the French] 'Charge d'Affaires in Rome inform- ed the French Foreign Minister. M.. Bonnet, by telephone yesterday that he would be received by the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, at five o'clock on Wednesday afternoon for a resumption of the parleys interrupted on May 3.
The Charge d'Affaires, according to the l'Intransigeant, moreover an-| nounced that a preliminary agree- ment between France and Italy may be concluded in the first half of the next week.

The paper believes that either France's present Ambassador Berlin, M. Francois Poncet, or the French Ambassador in Warsaw, M Leon Noel, will be appointed Am- bassador to Italy immediately after the conclusion of a preliminary agreement.
According to the paper, M. Fran- cois: Poncet is the more likely can- didate, however, to be chosen. Trans-Ocean
