LORD HAWKE RESIGNS

The M.C.C. have announced that Lord. Hawke had resigned office as treasurer, a post he has held since 1932. He expressed the wish that the responsibility should pass on to a younger man. At the annual meeting of the M.C.C., on May 4, the committee will propose that Viscount Cob- ham should succeed Lord Hawke.
