The first bowls match on to- day's programme and probably first in ordeß of importance, is the match between Craigengower and Kowloon Bowling Green Club. Craigengower, after their ex- cellent away win last Saturday, †K. C. C. will be full of confidence and, in spite of their visitors' victory against the Civil Servants, it must be remembered that the laiter match was played in Kow- loon.

Kowloon C. C. will be at home to Recreio, who are not expected to slip up this week.

I anticipate a close result between Police R. C. and Civil Service Cricket Club, but do not suggest that the re- sult will be nearly as tight as last year when all three rinks finished level. The odds, however, are on the visitors. Kowloon Dock R.C., providing they are able to field their full rinks, should be able to beat the Indians, in spite of the latters' good start to the season.

Following their failure against the Civil Servants in the Second Division last week, I hositate to predict a win for K.B.G.C. against Craigongower, hut with ground advantage, they should avenge last year's defent.

FELLOW tennis enthusiast said to me on Wednesday after the Singles Final, "Tsui is only strokist!" That Tsui is an excel- lent stroke player no one will deny, but he is also a player who uses his head. On Wednesday it was not a smashing service-he secured only three aces in the four sets-

gave him the Colony title, but it was his clever drop shot, which either won the point outright or caused H. D. Rumjahn to play the ball right on to his racket for a sure point. This stroke, coupled with his ability to catch his oppon- ent on the wrong foot by powerful wrist-work, completely broke down the reigning champion's reserves and left him in a helpless state in the fourth set.

In the first set I thought Rum- jahn had caught Tsui on an off day and that he would win the match, but once Tsui speeded up his game the gallant loser was swept off the court almost as easily as Sirdar Rumjahn beat G. R. M. Ricketts in the 1935 Final.

On yesterday's display Tsui, whom I believe was never fully ex- |tended, could have beaten Rumjahn

from owe 30!

Tsui now only needs to win next Tuesday's Doubles Final with his brother to win the only four Colony titles in succession.

It is a great-pity that more of our youngsters cannot go to Europe and improve their tennis. The dif- ference in Tsui, before and after, has

been amazing. One player who springs to mind is George Choa. In his case a year in England and on the Continent would pro- duce another Colony champion with a long lease.
