Opening the case, Mr. Williams said that at about 10.30 p.m. CEI the March 12, the pair boarded Man To ferry-boat at. A Chinese sailor jumped in the harbour and rescued accused. The woman, however, was drowned.

ACCUSED'S STORY

According to the accused's story, he could not find work and did not want to beg. So he and his wife agreed to commit suicide. They took the Ferry from Hong Kong. to Mong Kok, but it was very crowd- ed with passengers.. On returning from Mong Kok they jumped over- board.

A Chinese woman, Chan Soo, the only eye-witness, testified that her attention was attracted by the cries of a woman shouting "Save Life". Witness looked up and saw accused pressing a woman down by the neck with both his hands. He then caught hold of her feet and threw her overboard, and jumped which over himself.

The case is continuing this after-
