The ship is sailing to-morrow and the evidence of two deck hands was taken. They stated that when the ship was berthing the officer was hit by a wire rope. He scolded de- fendant and then struck him on the face, nearly causing the defendant to fall. Defendant took out a knife jand threatened to use it. Neither saw the blow struck. Complainant was admitted to the French- Hos- pital suffering from a wound the shoulder and this had now turned septic.

The case was adjourned.
