BRITAIN'S NOTE TO MEXICO
> Expropriation Methods Strongly Condemned
CONDUCT OF LEGAL
PROCEEDINGS CRITICISED
London, To-day.
Severe censure of the Mexican Government's methods in expropriating the British oil fields is made in a British note to Mexico just publish- ed. The note admits the Mexican Government's right to expropriate in the public interest on payment of adequate compensation, but that the princi- ple does not justify expropriation of an essen- tially arbitrary character.
After reviewing the legal pro- ceedings in which the note alleges, essential evidence was improperly excluded, inadequately considered OF unjustifiably overridden, the note says the severity of the Mexi- can Government's harsh arbitrary step is disproportionate to the exigencies of the situation.

Tsui Yun-pui is probably the most improved tennis player of the year. He did not take part in last year's Championships as he was away from the Colony, but he has improved out of recognition, his stroking being beautiful and the with which he eliminated Paul Kong, one of the most season- ed players in the Colony, was ex- traordinary. Tsui's only weakness at the moment seems to be over- head, but he should have no cause to worry here.
