AUSTRIA VOTES ANSCHLUSS NEARLY HUNDRED PER CENT. Less Than Ten Thousand People Say "No"

Vienna, To-day.

BOAT RACE RESULT CREWS WIN

Cannes, To-day. The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race Crew's, competing against French crews in the open sea here yesterday, both gained triumphs.

Oxford defeated Lyons "easily, and Cambridge beat Toulouse by six lengths-Renter.

It is officially announced that 99.75 per cent. of voters in Austria voted in favour of anschluss with Germany in the plebiscite yesterday. Total votes cast in Austria were 4,283,712, of which

4,273,884 were "Yes," making the percentage station. 99.75.

In Berlin, of the votes counted by 9 o'clock last night, 9,589,045 voted "Yes," 91,429 “No,” and 15,231 were invalid.

CARDINAL'S VOTE

Vienna, To-day.

The Cardinal Archbishop of Vienna cast his vote yesterday. On entering the polling booth, Cardinal İnnitzer gave the Nazi salute and exclaimed "Heil Hitler."

A member of the Hitler Youth pinned the Swastika badge on the Cardinal's hat, and Cardinal Innit- zer left the building with right arm upraised.

A new German record was estab- lished in yesterday's plebiscite in the number of votes cast.

It is estimated that almost 100 per cent of those entitled to vote, went to the polls.
