The Islington Corinthians ter- minated their visit to the Colony to-day at noon when they sailed for Canada and the United States via Shanghai and Japan by the RMS Empress of Japan.
There was a large gathering on the wharf to bid the British soc- cer tourists bon voyage including Dr. S. T. Wong, Mr. Wong Ka-tsun, Mr. Lee Wai-tong, members of the South China Athletic Association and of the HKFA.
Mr. Thomas Smith, the genial! Secretary-Manager of the Corin- thians, said that they had been treated royally in Hong Kong and had thoroughly enjoyed their stay here. The five games against Ce lony sides had been most enjoyable and he paid tribute to the standard of refereeing and to the very fair treatment by the Press.
Mr. "Pat" Clark, the captain of the tourists, associated himself with Mr. Smith's remarks and add- ed that they were looking forward to their game in Shanghai, al- though there was some apprehen- sion at the moment as to the filling of their centre-half berth, which had been caused vacant by injuries to both Whittaker, the star of their tour, and Martin. He was sure, however, that the Ishington Corinthians would maintain their form
