Great Optimism In Anglo-Italian Deliberations
Milan, To-day.
That relations between Italy and Britain have now been placed on an entirely satisfactory foot- being, and that there is great optimism over the
prospects of a successful termination to the negotiations now proceeding in Rome, is the statement made by the semi-official newspaper, "Popolo d'Italia."
Examination of questions that concern both powers has made important progress, the paper says, and has been extended to include mutual inter- ests in the Mediterranean and Red Sea.
Now that the talks between Count Ciano, Italian Foreign Min- ister, and the British Ambassador Lord Perth, have cleared the at- mosphere, responsible quarters in Rome also share the hopes of a -final agreement entertained by the British Prime Minister. Trans- Ocean.
