U.S. And World Holders

For Australia?

Flanagan is the greatest stylist in the world, and his pace over 1,500 metres in the Olympic trials at Berlin made him America's No. 1 choice for the event. Medica

was not doing nearly so well. Only one good judge thought Medica would win and that was his coach, Ray Daughters. ·

OBJECT LESSON

GREAT BRITAIN'S -TENNIS HOPES

British tennis hopes of reaching the final of the European Zone, in the Davis Cup Competition, receiv- ed a rude jolt on Saturday, when it was made known that H. W. "Bunny" Austin, Great Britain's first ranking tennis player, above, would not be able to join the team this year. On top of this comes further bad news that Charles E. Hare, the second ranking British player, has accepted a business of- fer in the United States, and is ex- tremely doubtful of being able to play in the Davis Cup team!--Reg- ter.
