IN the course of the debate in the Second Chamber yesterday in regard to defence of the Nether- lands East Indies, the Colonial Minister declar- ed that in view of the Dutch air forces in the NEI. and the presence of an army of 60,000 soldiers in Java, it was very dangerous for foreign power to invade the Indies.

The strong Dutch air forces, hel said, could soon be sent to any point in the East Indian Archipelago.

The Dutch Communist leader, Wynkoop, urged more native forces to join the Netherlands East Indian army because for the Indies there was only one enemy-Japan. Reu- *ter.

HILDEBRANDT RELEASED

Peiping, To-day. Hildebrandt, the young Ger- man, who was kidnapped with six Chinese by bandits in the hills west of Peiping, was released yesterday.
