NO BRITISH ACTION CALLED FOR
London, To-day.
The Prime Minister, answering a Commons question, said it was at present impossible for His Ma-- jesty's Government to estimate the real effect of the Austro-German Agreement of February 12 but they were continuing to follow de- velopments with close attention.
They had noted with great inter- est the speech delivered by Herr von Schuschnigg last Thursday.
Mr. Chamberlain added that mea- sures so far taken by the Austrian Government in consequence of the discussions at Berchtesgaden did not appear, in the opinion of His Majesty's Government, to constitute a breach of the obligations, which Austria undertook in the Treaty of Saint-Germain and the Geneva Protocol of 1922, and it did not ap- pear therefore that any action on the part of His Majesty's Govern- ment was called for on that ac- count in the existing circumstan- ces.-British Wireless.
