French Police Eject Japanese From Consulate Compound
SHANGHAI, TO-DAY.
A PLATOON OF FRENCH CONCESSION POLICE YESTER- DAY FORCED A SMALL GROUP OF JAPANESE MILITARY PO- LICE WHO ENTERED THE COMPOUND OF THE FRENCH CON- SULATE ON THE FRENCH BUND IN TRUCULENT MOOD TO LEAVE.

-The Japanese demanded to the French Consul-General and said if he did not received them they would seal the American Trading Company godown, over which there has been some dispute for some days. The Consul-General refused to see them and instead French police were called who ushered the
Ja- panese out of the compound and escorted them to the boundary the French Concession and the Settlement, about 100 yards away.
Meanwhile, the Japanese authori-i ties have removed the seals from the Commercial Express and Storage Company's warehouse following strongly worded protest by the U.S. Consul-General.-Reuter.
