Three Junkpeople Cut Up In Propellors Of Chuenchow

A..

Three bodies are lying in the Public Mortuary and two persons, seriously injured, in the Queen Mary Hospital as a result of the tragedy which occurred in the harbour yesterday morning when the s.s. Chuen Chow while berth- ing alongside the Po Tak Pier on the Praya ac- cidentally crashed into a junk.

The vessel from Macao arrived in the harbour shortly after 11 a.m. and, as she was being turned about so as to berth with her stern towards

the Praya she crashed into a junk smashing it to splinters and throw- ing the seven occupants into the water.

A police launch in the vicinity, speeded to the scene and with the laid of some junk-folk picked up the

victims.
