E. OF JAPAN LOSE SOFTBALL TILT TO COLONY COMBINATION

Bill Woo Clouts

'Em Hard

(By "SHORTSTOP”) The much-touted · softball `: ex- hibition

game that was played yesterday afternoon, on the C.B.A., ground between the Empress of Japan and the Hong Kong All- Stars was a lackadaisical affray.

Most of the first string local boys were absentees, but those who were on hand managed to defeat the Empress of Japan's boys by 9 runs to 6.

Bill Muir again took the lime- light in muffing easy flies out in leftfield, and was taken out in the sixth inning and replaced George Fowler. "Doc" Molthen placed Porter, at second, in same inning.

the

The hardest hits of the season were seen yesterday when Bill Woo connected with two clouts over the leftfield fence for homeruns. The ball was never more than seven feet off the ground and just went over the leftfielder's head. COTTAGE CLUB TO HOLD GYMKHANA
