SCHOOL PERFECT SITE FOR THE INTERPORT?

(By "STICKS")

The outstanding event during the past week in Ladies' hockey was the annual Seven-A-Side Tournament for the Pearce Cup, which was retained by the hold- ers, the Hong Kong Ladies, who had to put up a stiff fight against the Central British Schoolgirls before they eventually triumph- ed.

A thrilling moment in last Saturday's Governor's Cup soccer match, between the H.K.F.A. and the H. K. C. A. A. F., which the latter won by the odd goal in three, showing Chan Tak-fai about to score the second goal for the Chinese, with Rowlands (extreme left) coming out to meet hint, and with “Sonny" Bliss anxiously watching the next move from the background. “HATS OFF"

Hats off to Miss. B. Pope, who despite being in the Veteran stage, gave a wonderful performance for the winners against the youthful Schoolgirls in the final round.

The Schoolgirls are to be con- gratulated on reaching the final by beating St. Andrew's Ladies by a solitary goal. They played the game for the game's sake and a victory for them would have been a most popular one.

Misa Tris Woolley still retains her dash of former days and her winning goal against the "Y" team was a deserving one.

The challengers to Benny Lynch, of Glasgow, the world's fly-weight cham- pion, grow numerically. Tiny Bostock, of Hanley, has been holding the stage for a spell, and he has now been joined to by T. Whalley, of Hanley, and again by Peter Kane, of Galborne, who was Bridges knocked out by Lynch in his last fight

Chan Kam-fui, the United custo- dian against the Hong Kong Club last Wednesday, is definitely a dis- covery, but he is not quite mature for the Interport series. He has a good eye for a kicking clearance, but we have not yet seen him block a shot with his stick!
