The Second Division team of the Seaforth Highlanders, seen above, have been featured in some very good football in the two half- seasons they have been seen in action here.

L.J.A. FEILDEN'S TWO WINS AT KWANTI MEETING MISS BETTY FAIR TRIUMPHS IN LADIES' SCURRY

THE

HERE was a big attendance at the January meeting of the Fan- ling Hunt and Race Club at Kwanti yesterday, fine weather pre- vailing throughout the afternoon. Mr. L. J. A. Feilden was the most successful jockey, winning the opening event on Glorious Star and the Happy Valley Handicap on his own pony, Estover.

In the January Plate, Valorous clouted heavily and Mr. Davis received, some nasty face injuries. The Ladies' Scurry was won by Miss Betty Fair, who rode her best race to date when she won by half a length on Zero.

Double Chance, ridden by Miss J. Scott-Harston, was pushed all the way for second place by Her- ga, which was ridden by

Paton.

BRILLIANT GOAL-KICKING BY JENKINS

Cardiff, Saturday.

OVER 60,000 yelling Welshmen saw their Inter- national Rugby team triumph over the holders, England, in the first match of the present series by a goal, two penalty goals and a try (14 points) to a goal and a try (8 points) after leading at the inter-

THEN W. H. CLEMENT, THE WELSH RIGHT-WING THREEQUAR- TER, WAS CARRIED OFF AND DID NOT RETURN. BOTH THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED IN THE SECOND HALF.

England kicked off against the wind, but F. Morgan, one of the Welsh forwards, knocked-on when a glorious chance presented itself after a fierce forward movement in the first minutes of the game.
