P. Kimm, retiring The above group photograph was taken last Sunday morning on the occasion of the farewell hockey match to Capt. G. W. Chairman of the Mamak Hockey Tournament, who can be seen in the middle of the back row between Mr. G. E. Clarke (left), Hon. Secretary of the Mamak Tournament, and Inspector Tylor (right), Hon. Secretary of the United Tournament. The match resulted in a win for United over Mamak by 2 goals to 1 ("Mail" photo).

PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION AT THE ATTITUDE TO- MOMENT IS THE MACAO HOCKEY CLUB'S WARDS THE FORTHCOMING INTERPORT WITH THE COL- ONY, AND POSSIBLY AGAINST MALAYA, WHO ARE TRYING TO SEND A TEAM HERE. I UNDERSTAND FROM THE HON. SECRETARY OF THE LOCAL ASSOCIATION THAT NO WORD HAS YET BEEN RECEIVED FROM MACAO, ALTHOUGH THEIR OVERTURE TO OUR INVITATION TO VISIT THE COLONY IS LONG OVERDUE. WHAT ABOUT IT MACAO!

I think the crux of the matter is that Macao are not quite ready for us, as the dearth of visiting teams to the Portuguese Is- land is quite apparent. In this connection, it is interesting to note that several of the hockey clubs in the Colony intend making visits there either this month or next.

The Hong Kong Hockey Club in- tended visiting Macao on January 16, but have now had to call the visit off as three of their forwards are unable to make the trip. Victor Bond is on the sick list, while nei- ther S. A. Fowler nor B. L. Bickford are able to get away at the mo- ment. I understand from Mr. G. Sommer, the Club's energetic Hon. Secretary, that a visit will probably be made early in February if it is agreeable to Macão.

GLASGOW SOCCER TOURNAMENT NEXT YEAR

London, To-day. Sunderland F.C. and Chelsea F.C. have accepted invitations to take. part in the Empire Exhibition foot- ball tournament in Glasgow next

year.

Arsenal will also take part if their Continental commitments per- mit. Manchester City, the other club invited, have withdrawn, and Everton nay take their place. Scottish clubs competing are Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Aber- deen-Trans-Ocean.

It seems that in Lt. Saval Khan, Lt. Pritam Nath and Gur- bachan Singh, all of whom played for the Radio against the United team in last Sunday's exhibition. game, we have found the perfect inside-combination, but what of Pyara Singh? The latter cannot be ignored, especially after last Saturday's display against the Destroyers when he was almost perfect!

An example of how a forward | combination or team can be wrecked by the non-appearance of one player was supplied last Wednesday afternoon when the Hong Kong Hockey Club defeat- ed the Police by a solitary goal encounter, the first of which was won by the
