ROYAL SCOTS TO TAKE OVER
SEAFORTHS' FIXTURES?
5TH ACK-ACK BRIGADE CHALLENGED BY SEAFORTHS TO-DAY
PORTUGUESE S.A. OUT FOR THIRD DIV. CHAMPIONSHIP
(By "UBIQUE”)
THE fight for Second Division championship honours has now reached a very interesting stage and with half the season now over there are at least five teams in the running, and, but for the enforced withdrawal of the Seaforths at the end of the month, this team would also still be in the running.
It is not known whether the Royal Scots, the relieving battalion, will take over Seaforths fixtures, but in view of the fact that a new team seldom does well in their first few games, they are not expected to improve on the Seaforths' present position.
GOOD ENCOUNTER FOOTBALL
ANTICIPATED
(By “OUTSIDE LEFT") A very good game of soccer should be witnessed on the Club ground this afternoon, when the Civilians will meet the Chinese in the Semi-Final Round of the Lai Wah Cup knockout competition. The Civilians will be fielding a very strong team, representa- tive of all the European Clubs in the First Division, and it is worthy of note that Ulrich, of Kowloon, has again secured re- cognition, probably following his display for Hong Kong against -the British Isles last Sunday.
Remedios, Bliss and Andy Wilson will form a powerful intermediate line with a thrustful forward line in T. Pile, Ward, Knox, Howlett and Honniball, Kowloon F.C. being re presented here by two players. MUST ESTABLISH REPUTATION|
The Chinese are taking no risks, and with the approaching games against the Islington Corinthians, will go all out to establish a firm reputation before the English-visi- tors arrive here.
Lee Tin-sang and Mak Shui-hon will again be paired in the full- back division and with splendid support from a strong intermediate line comprising Leung Wing-chiu Lau Hing-choi and Lee Kwok-wai, should prove more than a match for the opposing attack.
Much of to-day's success will de- pend upon the two defences, as the attacks are fairly well balanced.
The Army will meet the. Navy in the other Semi-Final Round en- counter to-morrow on the Kowloon Football Club ground.
The following are to-day's teams. and reserves →

the Middlesex and 5th A.. A. Bde. Royal Artillery, a very strong challenge for the champion-- ship. Every forward in the Kwong Wah team can shoot and Chin Chi- fan and Henry Young, should give the Club defence a gruelling time.
LEADING GOAL-SCORER
The game between the Middle sex and the Police should afford Izzard, an opportunity of easily maintaining his position as the leading goalscorer in the Second Division, and the soldiers should retain their position at the head of the table,
The Third Division League is fast coming to an end and the Portu guese Sporting Association require only one more point to win the Kowloon section. They are due to meet the Seaforths this afternoon, and should collect both points, de- spite the fact that they were held to a draw in the First round. The strength of the Portuguese team lies in their forward line, in which Gaan, H. Santos and Campos are the most dangerous.
In the Hong Kong section, the | Ordnance, who are now second in the table, encounter · Stanley and (Eas-should win. They are not expected fo over take the Medicals in the race, for the section championship, "B" but are keen to be runners-up, Sammy which may entitle them to a play, Chong, Chan-fai off for the Third Division runners-
